We Camp! We Climb! We are the mighty 3079!
We look forward to welcoming your family into the pack. Pack 3079
meets at Park Community Church* from 6:30-7:30 on the third Thursday
evening of each month during the school year. The pack is divided into
dens based on grade and gender. Dens meet in separate rooms at PCC
from 6:30-7:30 on the first Thursday evening of each month during the
school year. The pack also hosts special events throughout the school
year, such as seasonal camp-outs, the Raingutter Regatta, the Pinewood
Derby, and the Blue & Gold Banquet.
* Please note that no affiliation with Park Community Church is
required. We welcome scouts from families of all faiths.
A Word About Parental Involvement:
Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family. Getting involved as a parent
makes the experience more meaningful for your Cub Scout. We expect a
parent from each family to attend every meeting or event. Parental
attendance is especially important at the Tiger (1st grade) and Wolf
(2nd grade) levels to help the den leader in keeping the Cub Scouts
focused on the planned activities. The den leader may also ask a
parent from each family to select an adventure from the Scout Handbook
that matches his or her skills and interests and to choose a den
meeting on the calendar to plan and lead the required activities for
that adventure. We also expect a parent from each family either to
serve in a leadership position (e.g., den leader, cubmaster, etc.) or
to accept a committee assignment. Our committees support our leaders
in planning special events, coordinating our Cub Scouts' advancement,
fundraising, and recruiting new members. Keep in mind that not every
volunteer wears a uniform.
Please note that we have a place for every parent, legal guardian,
or other caring adult in our Cub Scouts' lives who wants to help.
A Word About Costs:
Cub Scouting delivers great value when compared to the cost of sports
and many other activities. Costs include a uniform for your Cub Scout
and the following fees:
- $103 BSA fees (covers registration, insurance and subscription to Scout’s Life Magazine)
- $25 BSA New Scout fee
- $100 Pack 3079 fee (covers annual facility use, handbook, neckerchief/slide and advancement awards, pinewood derby and raingutter regatta kits)
Please note that we have a place for every boy or girl who wants to
be a Cub Scout, regardless of family means. The pack conducts
fundraisers annually in order to offset the costs for Cub Scouts in
need. Please contact our Pack Committee Chairman at
[email protected] for a confidential financial aid
application.
